I have to say, though, that anyone who expects any level of privacy on the Internet is likely to be gravely disappointed . . .

We had an incident a few years back where a member copied posts from a private, password-protected SFWA discussion group and posted them in a public blog. All that this new Facebook/Twitter link does is automate the process. Automated assholes are still assholes.

Even for "friends-locked" posts, I know very little about the ancestry, morals, and sanitary habits of a large percentage of my "friends list" -- so I rarely make "friends-locked" posts.

Correct, no privacy which is why I don't use names here including my own on the blog.

I have a token offering at Facebook for colleagues and students to find. Since the school lists my degrees in the catalog that is already known information.
