Saw some conceptual drawings of the proposed Park51 Islamic Center with the poster saying "As for the look of the place, it could fit in fine as an annex to Superman's Fortress of Solitude, with white walls and floors and a crystalline feel." Which pissed me off because to me it seems to be a very modern take on the buildings and tile work of Esfahan, Iran. They totally blew my mind in grad school when I was taking a class Middle Eastern Ceramics.

And for the record, I hold that they have every right to build their building wherever they want, at least for the moment it is still a free country. If some of the wackos win this go round, I will start to worry.
