Paczki run to Ann Arbor

Fat Tuesday in the Midwest means paczki. Polish fried sweet bread filled with lots of things. Sort of polish jelly donuts as it were but with more filling than an ordinary jelly donut.

Why did we drive to Ann Arbor, you ask, when paczki are available at every corner store in Lansing? These were paczki made by Zingerman's Bake House. Definitely not your ordinary jelly donut from your very not ordinary bakery.

EtA: the real thing -- I got plum, rose hip and cream cheese. Nom!

Oh, I could do with a Pflaumenmus-Berliner right about now! Sounds like you enjoyed! :)

Yes, they are so good. I am being good and not eating them all at once.
