what i did on my summer vacation!

Took the car ferry (the SS. Badger) across Lake Michigan to Wisconsin and eventually back home. This is the largest car ferry to ever sail Lake Michigan and if you are thinking automobile ferry you are mistaken. This ship used to take 36 train cars at one time across the lake but now does people, cars, & motorcycles. It is a coal-fired steamship, the only one left in North America. At 15 miles an hour it is slow but beats having to drive up over/down under the lake any day.

Looking at the Upper Peninsula from Door County, Wisconsin. And yes, I swiped their logo -- free advertising!
