...Woman Could Be Jailed For Vegetable Garden
When I first moved into my house (late 80's) I removed about 80% of the grass in my yard and turned it into garden, mostly flowers but some veg. When I first did it I had neighbors asking me what I was doing. Every few of years I'd get a "mow your weeds of else" letter from the city. Each time I get a letter I have sent a list of all the plants in my yard visible from the road. Of course the list only gives latin names and challenges the city to tell me which ones are the weeds. I then don't hear from them for another 5 years or so.
In my immediate neighborhood about 10% of the front lawns are flowers. I started a trend.
