cool out

Romy is in the garden window chasing fireflies. She spent most of the afternoon in this window watching assorted birds checking out the mountain ash berries. It is the annual "are they done yet" dance.

It was beautiful today so I opened the house up. I liked it my -- sinuses did not, oh well.

I've been making some new clothes. Sewing machines R us. Four ready to hem and three more to go. I don't really like to sew but I cannot get what I want for a price I am willing to pay -- so every once in a while this blitz happens.

Our mountain ash berries are attracting avian attention -- front tree is riper than the side-yard tree, but I saw a cardinal gulp a couple off the latter. We hope the cedar waxwings find us before the starlings do.

You'd asked about sending a couple of copies of Dragon's Bones off for signing. I hope the delay has been on your end, because nothing has shown up here . . .

Usually local birds do a good job with the tree but marauding starlings have at times stripped it. Sometimes I have witnessed this remake of The Birds.

Oops, it is sitting on my dining room table waiting for an SASE. I'll put it in the mail this week.
