I heard from her breeders and they sent a picture of her mom with a new litter. Ash was the only survivor of her litter so this is sweet. There is even a brown tabby & white van baby. I didn't realize that Ash's mom looks so much like Fiona.

ETA: Mom's pattern is the same as my very first cat (as an adult -really my own) named Gimli.

Cars have gone off the bridge, luckily the 18 wheeler wasn't one of them! I have never driven across the bridge although I have visited the UP when I lived in Duluth. I will make use of the "driver" service at the toll booth. You can hire someone to drive you across the bridge. I am afraid of heights and this sucker is 8 miles long and about 160 above the lake. ETA: that downpour that I bailed out of on Monday caused two 18 wheelers and a bus to crash just down the road. I am glad I got off the highway.
