continuing fall weirdness

The trees in my yard have mostly changed color, except for the Redbud in the back which persists in remaining green. This is a weird thing too, as this is a purple leaf variety.

I was gifted with a jack 'o lantern for Halloween and it looks silly sitting surrounded by petunias. Such is the weather. Yesterday the leaves on the witch hazel in front all turned from green to colors. Today they mostly all fell off.

The black plant is the Baptista which shows that it could be a dye plant as the chlorophyll disappears.

Cami and I went to see Sarah's Key (Elle s'appelait Sarah) and it is a movie I heartily recommend. Sad but well told. About half is French with subtitles. The conversation was such that I could only understand 30 - 40% without the subtitles. I don't know if this is good or bad. The fact that I remember any trends towards I still have a functioning brain, that I have lost so much - not good. Sigh.

About half the leaves falling out of our side-yard maple are still faded green, rather than yellow.
