I really like this whole family. They are for the most part small flowering trees/large shrubs. In my yard I have a Corylopsis spicata (winter hazel), 4 varieties of Hamamelis (witch hazel), and a Parrotia persica (persian ironwood) as well as this Fothergilla. I like them because they bloom from winter to early spring when nothing else is blooming. After a long grey Michigan winter I need something. I'll try to include some more pictures of the fall color because they excel here as well.
