Not unusual but she had her yearly mouse with her this time. ALIVE! they are always alive which makes the yearly mouse hunt ever so much fun. My house is over a hundred years old at this point so I cannot avoid the little things completely. With the weather rotating from vast amounts of snow to 60 degrees I would guess they are very confused and refuge seems a good thing. Unfortunately they become Romy's favorite self-mobile toy and I as her favorite house keeper get a present. To the best of my knowledge she has never killed any, she believes in "catch & release". (See the first post on blog for more on Romy and the "have-a-heart" trap.)
Mice luckily like peanut butter so I released a happily fed mouse to the forest behind the Congregational Church. He/she didn't want the release, seemed to think that confinement with peanut butter was a good thing. Cute deer mouse but don't keep pet rodents.
Well it looks like there are a bunch of the critters active because "she" was sitting in the neighbor's tree. I wished her happy hunting.
