the birds redux

Went out the door this afternoon and the starlings were preparing for another "The Birds" remake but on the phone and electric lines in front of my house rather than elsewhere.

They were in the process of striping the fruits from the Callery Pear trees that the city planted as a few of the street trees in this block. Obviously they have been frosted enough to be edible. Crabapples on the other hand still remain on the trees. Later when things get a bit colder someone might think they are edible. Grosbeaks on their spring return got them last year.
